     William Elam Henry Gaylord was born on 17 November 1822 at Painted Post, New York, United States of America.1,4 He was also reported to have been born on 17 November 1823 at Painted Post, New York.3 He married Elizabeth Lyons Hutchins, daughter of Peletiah Rice Hutchins and Margaret Lyons, on 26 March 1846 at Painsville, Ohio, United States of America.1,3,4,6 He served in the American Civil War on 1 October 1862 at Memphis, Tennessee.7 He was a teacher, builder, Justice of the Peace, and school inspector.5 He died on 4 February 1905 at Fairgrove, Michigan, United States of America, at age 82.1,3 He was buried at Fairgrove, Michigan.3
